New student orientation occurs in August prior to the opening of school. Parents will be notified of the date. Take the opportunity to tour the building and meet the teachers at your child's grade level. During the month of September new students will be meeting with me in small groups. At that time they will receive a booklet called ACORN - Arrowhead Community Outreach Network. This booklet contains information about our community ranging from finding a family physician to recreational programs for the family.

    Developmental Guidance Lessons
All students in grades K-5 receive a series of developmental guidance lessons. When lessons begin parents receive information regarding the content of these lessons. Each student brings home their completed student booklet when lessons are concluded. I hope that you talk with your children about the information we discuss in school.

    Small Group Counseling
Needs based groups are formed on a variety of topics through out the school year. Typical topics for small groups include but are not limited to: new students, friendship skills, social skills, study skills, loss, separation & divorce. If you would like to see your child participate in a special needs group please feel free to contact me in the guidance office at extension #3.

    Individual Counseling
Referrals for students to talk with me can be made by classroom teachers, the children themselves or from parents. Children can self refer using student slips located in each classroom.
